The following are examples of major foundation grants provided to LVJUSD since 2020. In addition to these larger donations, additional smaller, yet significant grants were awarded to teachers, student organizations, and other school-based projects.
Music & Performing Arts Program Support ($200,000)

With growing and award-winning music programs, expanding the diverse collection and volume of musical instruments for students has been a continuous need. Grants have also funded band uniforms, sheet music, stands, risers, and other music materials integral to the program.
Additionally, robust choral and dramatic arts programs required the replacement of cordless microphones and provided an opportunity for students to professionally record a soundtrack to an originally written and scored musical.
Chromebooks ($77,000)

At the onset of remote learning during the 2020 pandemic, LVEF launched the Connecting Chromebooks to Classrooms campaign to partner with other community organizations and donors to raise $300K for 1:1 Chromebooks for all LVJUSD students. LVEF’s significant contribution, along with donations from the Livermore Rotary Clubs and Foundation, Real Estate Alliance of Livermore, Livermore Lions Club, and STAT MED Urgent Care, provided the necessary resources to connect students to school throughout the pandemic and beyond.
Math & STEM Programs ($68,000)

- Graphing Calculators ($18,000): LVEF funding provided class sets of NumWorks graphing calculators for advanced math courses taught at Granada & Livermore High. This investment aids instruction by keeping physical devices in the classroom and gives students at-home access with an online app.
- Planetarium ($25,000): Learning about the sun, moon, and stars at school science nights, Science Odyssey, or community events are made possible with the district’s mobile planetarium. Special thanks to Mr. Planetarium himself, Dan Bergmann, for bringing these unique experiences to students and families!
- Math Passport ($25,000): Keeping math skills strong over summer through the creation of a grade-level math scavenger hunt to Livermore points of interest was made possible with LVEF support.
Middle School Athletics ($55,000)

Often in the shadow of high school athletics, middle school sports provide great opportunities for students to hone their athletic and team-building skills. Schools budgets lacked funding for new uniforms and equipment and LVEF stepped in to fill the gap!
Libraries ($26,000)

School libraries largely self-fund their inventory of books and materials by hosting book fairs, which do not always provide enough funding to supply a wide-range of books with varying reading levels and themes. In 2021, LVEF donated $22,500 to LVJUSD’s Diversity in Literature program, providing additional funding to all school libraries for books from underrepresented groups, authors, and themes.
Concussion-Resistant Football Helmets ($20,000)

In 2025, LVEF reestablished its commitment to athlete safety by providing $20,000 to GHS and LHS athletic programs to replace concussion-resistant helmets reaching the end of their ten-year lifespan.
LVEF was a major contributor to the community-wide campaign that raised over $150,000 for the original purchase of concussion-resistant helmets in 2016.
